Rosario, an old lady who lives with Ofelio, her disabled son, her donkey and her goat, lives by selling fig salt to the old people, who know its millenary uses... and to the not so old people, mixing it with pharmacy tranquillisers and other ingredients. The La Mancha village where they live is ruined by the gambling addiction of its inhabitants and its rulers, who decide to sell it. The inhabitants submit to forced sale and expulsion, but Rosario's house and the lagoon are in the middle of the municipal district, so she organises, to the best of her ability, the resistance.

Liz Lobato
Liz Lobato is an actress and director from Madrid. She graduated in Philosophy at the Sorbonne in Paris and it was there that she began her career as an actress.
Paris and it was there that she began her career as an actress, which she completed at the studio of J.C. Corazza (Madrid) where she has also been a teacher. As a scriptwriter, she has a master's degree in Screenwriting for Film and TV at the University of London. She has also studied directing, such as The Discovery of Voice course at the Binger Film in Amsterdam, Director Package at the London Film School and is currently studying for a PhD in Film at Queen's University of Belfast.
She has been working as an actress for over 28 years and as a director for 14 years.
She has directed four short fiction films and a series of short documentaries in rural areas and has just made her first feature film.
