Plot
Sadaf Rahimi is the best female boxer in Afghanistan, but she must deal with her country’s traditions, fear and her own fate in order to be a free woman. Sadaf and her sister Shabnam joined the newly created women’s boxing team at the age of 13, when they returned to their country after being refugees in Iran. Her boxing and academic achievements will turn Sadaf into an example for many Afghan young women, but her path will not be without threats and difficulties.

Silvia Venegas
Silvia Venegas is a documentary film director, producer and screenwriter. She is a member of the European Film Academy and the Academia de las Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España.
Her filmography has focused on documentaries on social issues such as "40 Years of Refuge" (2019), "Our Life as Refugee Children in Europe" (2018), Goya Award for Best Documentary Short Film and Oscar nominee for Best Documentary Short Film, "Kafana (Enough is Enough!)" (2016), "Boxing for Freedom" (2015), selected for the European Film Awards in the category of Best Documentary, "Art by Prescription" (2015) and "Mama Wata's Children" (2010).
In 2010, together with director Juan Antonio Moreno, he founded the film production company Making DOC. His productions have been selected in more than 500 festivals and have received more than 100 awards, including the Goya Award for Best Documentary Short Film for "Walls (Si estas paredes hablasen)" (2014), the candidadura of "Donde nos lleve el viento" (2018) and the nomamición "Palabras de Caramelo" (2016).
In 2018 he received the Liberpress Cine Award for his commitment to cinema and human rights. In addition, he has been a jury member at festivals such as Documentamadrid or the International Human Rights Festival Article 31 and gives specialized training in documentary filmmaking in schools, universities and other organizations.
Juan Antonio Moreno
Juan Antonio Moreno estudia documentación en la Universidad de Extremadura y guión en la Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión de San Antonio de los Baños de Cuba. Comienza su carrera profesional en TVE y en 2010 crea la productora Making DOC. Boxing for freedom es su primer largometraje cinematográfico.
